Could They Be Cuter?

No. No they could not. They were sleeping like this on the couch – Champ lying with her head on his chest – and it was adorable. They’re usually adorable, right up until they’re clawing your arm at 5:30 in the morning, or using the bed as a wrestling mat when you’re trying to sleep

Stars

I found these in the Arboretum on my walk. I love them. I even loved them when I only saw the tree with the closed blossoms. Then I saw the tree with the open ones and I was so excited I gasped. I would like to have one of these trees in my yard. When I have a yard.

All That’s Left

We made peanut butter bars (with rice krispies instead of graham cracker crumbs, YUM!) on Sunday and this is all that’s left. And yes, the spatula has been sitting there in the pan since we first cut into them.

Hugs

You wouldn’t know if from this picture, but Barley has been incredibly fed up with Champ lately. He’s hissed at her three times in the last few days when she’s wanted to play and he hasn’t, and he’s constantly trying to get away from her. Poor guy, she’s gotten big enough to get into all of his former hiding spots.

Not Afraid of Strangers

Well, not afraid of this stranger anyway. Barley had a great time hanging out with Pete’s parents and Jamie on Sunday. He hardly hid from Pete’s parents at all, and was even happy to play with Pete’s dad for a while. I doubt he’ll be so social next time we have guests, but I’m hoping that maybe he’s started to realize that strangers aren’t evil.
