Winter is here?

12.18.2011 Plymouth 1

The past few months have been unusually warm. There have been a normal fall or winter feeling day here or there, but for the most part it’s just been too warm to really feel like fall or winter – it was 60+ degrees out on December 1st, and it was the second week of the month before we actually kept our windows closed and the heat on for a week straight!

Pete and I had a car for the weekend, so we decided to venture out somewhere that we don’t normally go for lunch. What started out seeming like a wasted trip to Plymouth turned into discovering a great little breakfast place, wandering through a number of consignment stores, and picking up a few treasures….and the first kind-of-sort-of accumulating snow of the winter (Halloween doesn’t count as winter)! It was the first time all month that it actually felt like Christmas – freezing our noses off because we hadn’t really intended to be outside so much and so were under dressed, flurries flying around outside, and Christmas music and decor in every store we stepped in. It turned into a pretty perfect afternoon despite the not-so-perfect start.

First

We spent the afternoon with friends – catching up, eating lots of tasty food, and celebrating Leo’s first birthday. It was an awesome way to spend an afternoon!

Boots

12.11.2011 Boots

It is near impossible for me to find boots that fit over my calves (yes, I know all about “wide calf width” boots – they don’t fit my calves either), but in the past few years I’ve found a couple of pairs at Target that do. Why is it so difficult? I know a million other women with this same problem, yet there doesn’t seem to be an easy/inexpensive solution.

Santa can you hear me?

12.9.2011 Santa Kiss

I have been so good this year!

I dragged a coworker up to Downtown Crossing at lunch so he could take a picture of me with Santa. I meant to print this and frame it to give to Pete for Christmas but never got around to that, so maybe I’ll have to do it again next year. ;)

Harvest

Harvest Wreath

Girls day today meant brunch at the amazing Harvest (warning: brunch is a price fixe menu…a delicious, very well done price fixe menu) followed by some shopping in Harvard Square. You should definitely get yourself to Harvest, it’s worth venturing down the random side alley for! Especially if you have a gift certificate from an awesome boss burning a hole in your pocket. ;)

Thanks for helping me use up the gift card, ladies, I had a blast!
