I am posting late, but it’s still Thankful Thursday! I’m grateful for the sun lately – so nice to stand at the trolley stop in the morning in the sun (and perhaps a little more in the parking lot than at the trolley stop). I’m sure my fellow commuters think I’m nuts when they see me standing there, facing away from the tracks in the middle of all the sand left from the melted snow piles, with my eyes closed and my face lifted to the sun….but I think it’s a pretty great way to start the day.

I took this picture on the way to work – it’s my favorite part of the trolley ride, just before it turns up through the cemetery when you have a view across the marsh. Love all those golden weedy things, love the sun rising over it all, love seeing the stinky Neponset (or maybe it’s the marsh that’s stinky?).

And so it begins….

I’ve started training for this year’s Breast Cancer 3 Day – let the fun begin! I’ll start posting about my training walks over here, and you can donate here. At least we had spring-like weather this weekend: 60s yesterday and 50s today. But snow tomorrow, just to keep us from getting too excited and content.

Wiggity Whacked

We were at a party to celebrate our friend Chris’ new place and engagement, and Allan showed up wearing this wig that he had found in Chris’ old bedroom when they were at his parent’s house last weekend. You can always count on Allan to show up and entertain, and the wig didn’t fail. It also got passed around throughout the night, and Pete decided to wear it backwards for an extra shaggy look.

Survivors

I noticed these guys poking out of the flower beds behind work last week, and I was glad to see that they survived the snow storm. Yay! Spring may actually be coming!

so ready for spring

The weather has been taking baby steps towards being spring-like, and I’m not complaining about it! I went out to get lunch at work, and if I could have I would have stood with my eyes closed and my face to the sun until it was gone….but back to work I went.

I’ve been thinking about starting a regular post called Thankful Thursdays (corny, I know, but I heart alliteration), and I think I’ll start with this. I am so thankful for the sun! Nothing cheers me up more than a walk in the fresh air with the sun shining down on me.
