Deprive

Um…feel free to send me boxes of Dagoba Chai Chocolate bars to show me how much you love me. YUM.

PS I didn’t want to overload you all with Champ’s cuteness so I posted this photo (which I really love) instead…but I can’t help it, she’s just so darn cute! Here’s tonight’s “B side”.

Tall Boys

Pete’s loving the Coors tall boys lately – he claims its the best deal: $6.99 for 6 16 oz cans (umm…easy on the 6’s, perhaps these are really the devil’s drink!).

I’ve decided that all I want for my birthday is this guy:

The Nikkor f1.4/50mm. The picture above? It would be so much pretty with a faster lens. Feel free to send B&H Photo gift cards my way. Or any of the other goodies on my wish list over there.

Friday I’m In Love

Last week I put together some things I was lovin’ (on my Flickr) using other people’s photos and fd’s flickr toys. This week I thought it might be fun to take pictures of things I’m lovin’ and edit them together myself. I’m contemplating trying to do this every week, but I’m not ready to commit to that just yet. Anyway, here you go!

This Friday, I’m In Love with…
The pink scarf that my friend Mumi brought be back from Hanoi when she was back home last November. It’s huge and I wrap myself up in it when I’m cold at work, or use a hacking knot around my neck when I’m wearing it with a jacket. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten more compliments on a piece of clothing or accessory before.

Wearing jeans to work! I do this so rarely – I can’t even remember the last time I did it, but every day this week I’ve wanted to, and since I was leaving early to head to class tonight and half of the floor works from home on Fridays, I finally just did it. I also wore totally seasonally inappropriate shoes and didn’t care because I love them (I wore my rain boots whenever I was outside, though).

Cadbury Dairy Milk!!! Whit & Ed sent back a (HUGE) bar with B last time he was over, and we broke it open at book club last Sunday. There will be none left by the time this Sunday rolls around.

Not that I ever questioned it…

…but after reading this I thought “My parents are some very successful people!” I think it’s safe to say that all four of their grown up kids like spending time with them.

Strangely enough, I got this quote with my morning chai (love that Starbucks brought back TWISI cups!) and the daily quote I get emailed was also about success:

Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.”

— Maya Angelou

I like them both. I guess if you don’t have grown kids (or any kids at all) you measure by the second quote, and if you do have grown up kids you measure by the first one? Or you can just pick your favorite and stick with it.
