7.3.2011 Badminton

I’m not sure this photo truly captures the excitement of badminton – I’ll work on my badminton photographing skills for next time! :)

We spent the evening at Jamie & Ryan’s (unfortunately without Ryan, who was visiting family in the UK) – the boys playing badminton while I provided color commentary, grilling dinner, and chatting with friends around the fire pit. It was a pretty perfect summer evening.

Pretty Ladies!

6.26.2011 Girls at showers

I have fallen very behind in blogging, and am going to try not to spam you feed readers while I back post – hopefully I can stick with my plan and get a post or two up each day this week to catch me up. And then I can fall behind again and re-spam you when I have another handful of posts piled up! ;)

Nilay’s bridal shower was two days after we all returned from vacation together, so we all had a few days to unpack, scrub off the layers sunblock and bug spray and put on our Sunday best!

6.24.11 Vacation 124

We’ve been taking group photos on our vacations for a while now (2009, 2007) but this year the kiddos weren’t really feeling it. This was my favorite of the bunch!

6.24.11 Vacation 122

Of course we couldn’t leave without taking a photo in front of the Caboose that Pete and I slept in all week, even if it was raining.

Swish Swish

4.2.2011 Sabu 3

When Groupon posted a deal for Shabu Restaurant, of course we bought it. And I made sure Anna and Alex saw it, too, because they love Shabu-shabu as much as we do (I think at least half of the emails Anna and I send each other have the subject “swish swish” because we’re making plans to get together for shabu). Obviously we invited them to go with us to use ours.

4.2.2011 Sabu 2

As usual, Pete and Alex picked the craziest sounding Sake they could find on the menu. I don’t think they have managed to find a more entertaining one than the Poochi-Poochi Nigori Sake from our first visit, but I guess you can’t expect ridiculously translated labels on every sake bottle.

Trains

I got together with some friends for dinner, and the kiddos had a good time playing trains before dinner.
