Feelin’ the Fiddy

My new 50mm lens was delivered today, woohoo! The top picture was taken with the kit lens I got with my camera, the bottom picture was taken with the new lens. I can’t wait to really see what it can do this weekend! Click it to view it large if you really want to see the difference.

And in case you’re wondering – those are my grandma knick knacks! The cow & bucket creamer and sugar set belonged to Grandma, and the Pinocchio bottle opener belonged to Nonna. They hang out on the ledge between the kitchen and the living room.

Moooink

I found these in one of those quarter toy machines at Spukies, the pizza shop up the street from us. I hid them behind my back and let Pete pick one, and he got the cow. He took it out of the little plastic ball it came in and left it on the coffee table. I kind of thought my pig was cute in his plastic ball, so I left it in the ball and left it on the coffee table. Guess which one was mysteriously missing (*cough*CHAMP*cough*) the next morning?

If you guess the pig in the ball, you’re right. I found it when I moved the couch yesterday, so I decided it was best to take it out of it’s ball to save it from being stolen again. And then I took a picture, since I had cleared off the coffee table and had a blank background. And because they’re cute.

Chief Champ

I found this fire engine (assemble yourself, no glue required) for $10 and bought it. I texted Pete on my way home to tell him I had bought the cats a gift, and he said it was a good thing I did – I had locked Champ in the upstairs closet before I left (around 12) and he didn’t notice until 4:30. Oops!

I ended up cutting the back door out of the engine so that there are two ways in, and Champ climbs in and out occasionally, but so far she prefers to chew on the side view mirrors. Poor Barley Bear, he’s too tubby to fit inside.

**Click the picture to enlarge and enjoy the details on the truck – they spared no expense. There are even little pictures on the inside…you know, for the kitties to enjoy.

My Morning Sun

The kitties have learned to share the window sill, and that’s nice. Also, Champ is giant now.

Tall Boys

Pete’s loving the Coors tall boys lately – he claims its the best deal: $6.99 for 6 16 oz cans (umm…easy on the 6’s, perhaps these are really the devil’s drink!).

I’ve decided that all I want for my birthday is this guy:

The Nikkor f1.4/50mm. The picture above? It would be so much pretty with a faster lens. Feel free to send B&H Photo gift cards my way. Or any of the other goodies on my wish list over there.
