10 Year Reunion

9.4.2011 Mikerisica Pale Ale

Jamie planned a dinner and some camping to celebrate Ryan’s birthday, and it happened to coincide with a visit from our friend (and Pete and Jamie’s former roommate) Mike who is living in Portland (Oregon) now…and the 10 year anniversary of Mike, Jamie, and Pete all moving in together for the first time!

We met up with them to catch up and relax, which included getting to enjoy a personally delivered selection of beers that Mike brewed. I’m not a beer drinker so I can’t personally attest, but rumor has it that Mike brews some seriously awesome beer. I’m pretty sure Pete is trying to work out how he can get Mike to brew him private batches of beer and ship them from Seattle.

8.26.2011 SB Shabu

I guess I talk about Shabu a lot, because when SB came out to visit and I asked her what she wanted to do while she was in Boston Shabu was one of the few things on her list. Obvs we had to make it happen.

Photos Not By Me

I would like to redirect your attention over to Wizelight Photography’s blog, where you can see some of the gorgeous photos we had taken as a 40th anniversary gift to my parents. My nieces and nephew are pretty cute!

Does this knock “have professional portraits shot” off my life list? I think it does…but I might keep it on there because maybe it should be a reoccurring event.

8.21.2011 Pete and Jackie

On Saturday Emily and I thought it would be really funny for her to just walk up to Pete and put Jackie in his lap, but our little surprise delivery never made it to fruition. Saturday night Pete did end up the last adult in the room with Jackie when the rest of us raced out to catch the ice cream truck before it left the neighborhood, but she was happily hanging out in her bouncy seat so he really just had to, you know, make sure the house didn’t burn down with her in it.

Sunday, as we were saying goodbye, Emily was determined to get Pete to hold his newest niece…she was nicer than I would have been and she actually asked him if he was ready before handing her over. I would have just put Jackie in his arms and walked away without saying anything, haha!
